Do you feel that you need to lighten-up a bit? Is something weighing you down? Letting go is an art, and the result is more freedom, peace and happiness in life. The art of letting go is about knowing the why, the what, the hacks and the trip-ups to watch out for.

Why to let go? Learn what you want to experience more of in your life? Peace, love, happiness, lightness, freedom, contentment or wisdom? This is your ‘why.’

What to let go? The answer may even surprise you. Identify what it is you really need to let go of to attain what you want to experience in life. Discover how to let go of victimhood for empowerment. Discover old beliefs, patterns, or vision of yourself that you need to let go of.

Where to go from here? Learn steps for Awareness, Acknowledging, Acceptance, and open doors to new way of being and doing (Action).

Facilitator: Elizabeth Padilla is a meditation teacher and practitioner with over 30 years of experience with raja yoga. She lives at Anubhuti, where she manages the programming and retreats. She also leads the Brahma Kumaris’ environmental initiative in the U.S. Elizabeth has graced dozens of Bay Area interfaith programs as a performer, teacher, and activist, has held staff positions at the San Francisco Interfaith Council and served on the Board of the Marin Interfaith Council. She is a gifted actor and singer trained at the American Conservatory Theatre and is currently touring with a one-woman performance called Songs of My Soul.

Open to all levels. We warmup with Qigong and then transition to the Yang style long form Tai Chi set.

We will meet outside weather permitting, so please bring hat, sunglasses, windbreaker, etc.

Instructor, Fern Jeffcoat has taught Qigong and Tai Chi since 1993. She also practices and teaches Raja Yoga meditation. Fern combines movement, breathing and meditation to facilitate the integration of soul and body, which helps to ease into a state of health and wellness.

Forgiveness as a Cure

We often think about forgiveness in relation to another.  However, while forgiveness helps relationships, the first to benefit is myself.
As we walk through life, we sometimes find stones in our path – or situations create a ditch in it. The ditches and the stones make us weary. Forgiveness is to flatten out the ground, so that our path going forward is smoother.
This day retreat will bring you to an understanding of how to truly love, and how to make forgiveness final. Participants will receive practical information to help them begin the process of letting go of pain that comes from holding on to the past and use the virtue of love to facilitate the process of forgiveness.

  • Learn how to stop the old video from the past from playing in our minds over and over again. Our own thoughts and feelings bring the pain into the present.  This pain adds a stone to our path.
  • Understand and acknowledge negative feelings and counteract them.  Once we understand them, we can move on to freeing ourselves from resentment.
  • Discover how forgiveness leads to healthier relationships, greater psychological and spiritual wellbeing and higher self-esteem.  

Forgiveness means allowing everyone to progress. There is no better investment of time and effort than to free your hearts to love.

Facilitators: Annie Jorgensen and Elizabeth Padilla

Annie Jorgensen, M.S. in Educational Counseling, is an LVE Facilitator and a retired primary teacher and special education teacher who taught LVE for over 10 years, with stellar results. She is a wealth of experience and grounded in her years of experience working with people of all ages.

Dare to be happy and share happiness.

To dare to live is to dare to act. It is to dare to become a conscious actor. It is to dare to know, experience and share ones positivity with the world. It is underpinned by the understanding of how our actions truly influence our happiness. We can then use this secret to help ourselves and others. We can dare to be happy and share happiness.
The secret is in our actions. It is simply that every action we perform has an effect on us and ‘out’ there in our life. As we become more and more aware of how our actions impact how we feel we open up our choices. New possibilities present themselves. We give ourselves the opportunity to dare to be conscious actors.


In this workshop we will:

  • Dare to understand the value of our everyday actions and of imbuing them with our natural positivity and gifts. This is also known as bringing ‘the spirit of service’ into our actions
  • Learn how to be happy and share happiness
  • Discover your purpose of life and what your gifts are. In doing so we receive blessings and our happiness increases
  • Realize the self, explore your inner qualities and learn to infuse our actions with them. When we do we are really daring to live and know the wonder of life

The tree is a symbol of life in many cultures, and as we go through the season of darkness, we bring the tree inside to enliven our spirits.

In a world that has become increasingly stressful and chaotic, real peace is one of the most sought after commodities. But it has also become one of the most elusive. This retreat is an opportunity to explore and experience the spiritual truths that can awaken, empower, and sustain that peace which is in fact a fundamental quality innate to every human soul.

What is peace? Experience for yourself a state of inner contentment and fulfillment. Discover that we can all have peace of mind. The key is to understand what peace is and what the mind is.
Who does ‘our’ mind belong to? Understand why we say ‘my’ mind just as we say my hands and my feet. Does this not mean that it too should do as we tell it to?  Become the master of your own mind. Take back the remote-control and choose what buttons you want to press for yourself. Nurture contentment within yourself and live your full potential.

  • Restore: Free yourself from worries about the future. We can create our own futures.
  • Refresh: Free yourself from the past. Learn how to free our self from re-living the past over and over again by reframing and getting new perspectives.
  • Reboot: Be selective about your thoughts. Make your thoughts high quality thoughts.

Take your mind away to a relaxing destination in your meditation. You’ll return with a relaxed, refreshed, calm, clear mind.

Facilitators: Harsha Palli and Elizabeth Padilla

Harsha Palli, B.Tech, has an M.S in Computer Engineering, is an IT Architect, and has practiced Raja yoga meditation since 2005. He resides at our San Francisco center and facilitates classes and retreats at Anubhuti. Harsha specializes in creating a very calm and clear environment for others to experience deep meditation and insights.

Elizabeth Padilla is a meditation teacher and practitioner with over 30 years of experience with raja yoga. She lives at Anubhuti, where she manages the programming and retreats. She also leads the Brahma Kumaris’ environmental initiative in the U.S. Elizabeth has graced dozens of Bay Area interfaith programs as a performer, teacher, and activist, has held staff positions at the San Francisco Interfaith Council and served on the Board of the Marin Interfaith Council. She is a gifted actor and singer trained at the American Conservatory Theatre and is currently touring with a one-woman performance called Songs of My Soul.

Includes shared accommodation with private bath, wholesome and delicious vegetarian meals, and snacks with tea/coffee breaks.
