Living Values Education Retreat

07/30/2010 - 08/01/2010

LVEP logo

Friday 6:30 pm to Sunday 5 pm

Join us for a relaxing and inspiring weekend workshop at the Anubhuti Retreat Center in Novato.  This LVE workshop will be led by Diane Tillman, Licensed Educational Psychologist and the primary author of the award-winning Living Values Series, and Kyoko Kimura, experienced LVE teacher.  Skills to create a values-based atmosphere and values activities will be explored.  The workshop will also include information about LVE’s theoretical model, the breadth of the program internationally, and time for reflection, sharing, role playing and walks.

Living Values Education Program is a comprehensive values education program. This innovative global program, being implemented in more than 60 countries, offers training, a practical methodology and a wide variety of experiential values activities to educators and parents to help them provide the opportunity for children and young adults to explore and develop universal values.  LVE offers resource materials for regular and at-risk children.

Results:  The most frequent themes noted by educators implementing Living Values Education are positive changes in teacher-student relationships and in student-student relationships both inside and outside the classroom.  Educators note an increase in respect, caring, cooperation, motivation, and the ability to solve peer conflicts on the part of the students.  Aggressive behaviors decline as positive social skills and respect increase.  LVEP helps educators create safe, caring, values-based atmospheres for quality learning.

Cost:  While the presenters volunteer their time, there will be a $50 LVE materials fee as well as a donation for meals and two nights of accommodation to the retreat center.

For potential LVE Trainers: There will be a Train-the-Trainer session at both ends of the above session. From Fri July 30, 9:30 am to Mon August 2, 5 pm. Please see listing above to register for TTT.

At the very least, this promises to be a weekend of education, inspiration, exploration and entertainment. Choose, Change & Become: A Story of Transformation

08/27/2010 - 08/29/2010

Choose Change & Become

Weekend Retreat

Friday 7 pm to Sunday 4:30 pm

A retreat for young emerging leaders.

  • Are you 18 to 34 years old or so?
  • Are you hope driven, courageous, and spiritually progressive?

Then this retreat may be for you.

On behalf of the Brahma Kumaris North American Young Adults team, we would like to invite you to join us for a special weekend retreat “Choose, Change, & Become: A Story of Transformation”.

Looking at change as a natural part of transformation: I am on a journey - like a humble caterpillar moving towards its destiny. Although gradual change may seem slow and the climb demanding, my experience and strength are accumulating. Embrace this change by refreshing your perspective of where you are and where the current of life is taking you. Each reflection will move you a step further in your metamorphosis.

The retreat process will include a creative blend of reflection, conversation, active engagement, meditation and play, through which you will be able to:

  • Meet and network with like-minded (spiritually progressive, hope driven, courageous) young adults
  • De-stress in an environment that will support your spiritual replenishment
  • Connect with your inner strengths and values and understand what holds you back
  • Equip yourself with practical spiritual tools and develop a personal road map for expressing your potential.

Please register by August 1st to secure a place in the retreat. For any questions about the retreat content, please email: ccbwestcoast@gmail.com

Healing Power of Love

09/10/2010 - 09/12/2010

Healing Power of Love

Weekend Retreat

Friday 6 pm to Sunday 4 pm

In modern times, we are encouraged to keep going at all costs - rather than allow much needed, inner healing to take its course. Explore the powers that are the source of our well-being, powers that come from inside the self and are of long term benefit: love, happiness, forgiveness, and silence. Unconditional love opens new and unlimited horizons. Happiness helps us surmount the storms and learn life's lessons. The power of forgiveness allows us to create anew. Silence is simplicity - it creates solutions and is the way to the Divine.

Topics covered:

  • The four steps to self love
  • Exploring what it is that blocks love
  • Experiencing my higher self and the Source of Love and creating healthy boundaries

In this retreat we will explore the huge benefits of learning to be kind to myself. There will be sharing on the topics, conversations, writing, reflection, meditation, creative expression and lots of fun.
